11 Days : Tanzania Walking and Wildlife Adventures


Day 1: Arrive at Jomo  Kenyatta  International Airport
On arrival at the airport, you will meet your our safari representative in NAIROBI  and  be transfer to be transferred to Arusha.

Overnight at Meru Inn Hotel -

Day: 2 Arusha National Park(Walking and game drive safari)
Depart Arusha at 09.00 am for a 30 minutes drive to Arusha National Park. Here you will participate in a half day walking safari and a half day game drive. You will be accompanied by an armed ranger for the walk, who will guide you through the forest up to the waterfall and the point for viewing the black and white colobus monkeys. During the game drive you will see the 7 Lakes of Momella and the Ngurduto Crater.

Day 3 Mto wa Mbu - Karatu
After breakfast and a short drive, you arrive at the multi-cultural town of Mto wa Mbu. Here, a local guide will take you to experience the daily life in the town. You will see coffee and banana plantations (with over 30 varieties of bananas), taste banana beer and visit a local school. For lunch you will enjoy traditional African food. In the afternoon the journey continues to Karatu in the Nogorongoro Crater highlands. You will notice how the landscape changes from the dry lowlands to the fertile and moist highlands. There will be time for photo stops and to admire the stunning views over the plains below. After your arrival there might be time for an optional walk in the coffee plantations to learn about coffee production.

Day 4: Full day walking safari to Arusha National Park:
We depart for Arusha National Park to start our two day tour of the park.
Today will include a game drive and on foot safari on the lower slopes of Mt. Meru.
We are almost guaranteed of close encounters with the resident herd of Cape Buffalo and many of the giraffe that inhabit the park.

Day 5: Full day walking safari to Empakaai and Lake Natron:
Today we start walking from Empakaai to Lake Natron.
We descend the outer hills of the Great Rift Valley; we walk through the open plains of the Embulbul depression, passing through Naiobi village.
We have also the great opportunity to meet the local Maasai.
Ol Doinyo Lengai and Mount Meru are seen along the way.
Donkeys carry our luggage.

Day 6: Full day walking safari to Olmoti Crater:
Another chance to stretch our legs when we hike from the Nainokanoka ranger post through the forest up to the top of a spectacular waterfall with an armed ranger.
The waterfall is part of the Munge River which flows through the crater on its way to Ngorongoro Crater.
Overnight at Panorama Tented Camp -


Day 7: Full day game to Ngorongoro Crater:
After breakfast we depart for Ngorongoro Crater passing through the forested slopes of the Ngorongoro Crater Highlands before arriving at the rim of the crater.We'll descend into the crater which is one of the most densely crowded game areas in the world, home to nearly 40,000 animals.Here we'll have a good chance of seeing the big five: lion, leopard, rare Black Rhino, buffalo and elephants.Along with the big five; we will also see herds of wildebeest, zebra and Thomson's gazelle.After a picnic lunch we'll continue our game drive then depart the crater.

Day 8: Game drive and village walking to Lake Manyara National Park: 
We depart from your lodge proceed to Lake Manyara National Park. Although small in size, this park is one of the most diverse reserves in the country.
 Lake Manyara covers two thirds of the park. At the backdrop is the wall of the Great Rift Valley, before which lies the ground water forest, areas of open grassland near the lake foreshore, and the Soda Lake. We enjoy a picnic lunch in this area, which consists of open grassy areas, hot springs, dense woodlands and steep mountainsides. Lake Manyara National Park is a birding paradise that has more than 350 species of bird. The park is also famed for its unique and elusive tree- We will leave Lake Manyara National Park in the Afternoon to Arusha

Overnight at FANAKA LODGE -


Day 9 and 10 Drive to Tarangire National Park
Head to Tarangire National Park. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. The park has a variety of animal life including lion, leopard, elephant and cheetah. Have a half day game drive in the park.

Day 11
Today you will be transferred to Dar esalam for your  flight to Zanzibar
