You will wake up in the morning at 7am and Drive through rich Kikuyu farmland to the edge of the Rift Valley with Kenya Walking Survivors Safaris, Ascend the escarpment and drive via Great rift valley view points. The road to the Green Crater Lake takes you out of Naivasha and along a rough and bumpy road down the edge of lake Naivasha, passing by huge Greenhouses where roses and other flowers are grown for the export market. Its 120kms away and its 1hrs drive ,You will arrive at the Green Crater Lake at 9.30am approx and you will begin your morning game walk. The green crater lake was formed by volcanic activity. The group will walk in a reserve where its possible to get up close to Giraffe and many varieties of antelope.it's a great opportunity for photos. The KWSS guides will answer questions about the animals, bird life etc and point out the rocks formed due to the volcanic activity.
At 12.00pm you will leave for lunch at 'any hotel about 20 minutes back down the road toward Naivasha town. After lunch you will be driven to the shore of Lake Naivasha and has a large resident bird population inc Ibis, superb starling. Lovebirds, fish-eagle and Hoopoe and is a great opportunity to see the Black and White colobus monkey. After lunch you will have some free time for your boat ride as optional
An option worth considering for inclusion in the Itinerary.
Elsamere, the home of the late Joy and George Adamson is just a few klms away. Joy is famous for her book 'Born Free' and was an artist of some note. For an entry fee of Ksh 1000 per pax (approx USD$10) they get to visit the small museum, watch a documentary video of their life and then sit in the lovely gardens beside the lake and enjoy an afternoon tea of beautiful cakes, scones and slices and tea and coffee. Elsamere opens at 3.30pm and I recommend INCLUDING this option. It will take about 1hrs 30minute. Then drive to back to Nairobi where your safari with Kenya Walking Survivors Safaris end
